HOW TO MAKE A GOOD IMPRESSION WHEN DATING |
| |
TO MAKE A GREAT IMPRESSION
1. Let your self confidence and spirit shine as insecurity is a turnoff.
2. Be yourself – don’t say things just to impress.
3. Take pride in your appearance and be clean and well groomed at all times.
4. Be easy going when you meet people and be fun to be around.
5. Take risks. Be open and friendly.
6. Ask subtle open questions to screen potential partners – a person who knows what they want is very attractive to the opposite sex.
8. See life through positive eyes.
9. Maintain powerful strong upright body language and use eye contact when communicating and listening.
10. Never take rejection personally – just see it as part of the dating game.

- Complaining about everyone and everything.
- Getting really drunk.

SOME POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKERS WHEN FIRST STARTING TO DATE

- Exclusion on weekends – only wanting to date on weeknights.
- A lack of fair exchange – one person giving more emotionally, physically, or financially
- Often lack of money for those who are financially stable.

TIPS FOR DIVORCED, WIDOWED, AND MATURE AGE SINGLES
1. Enjoy being single for awhile. Don’t rush into another relationship because you are afraid of being alone as rebound relationships have a high failure rate.
2. Be emotionally available – heal and let go of the past.
3. Develop yourself - get to know yourself better and reflect on past mistakes so that the same patterns aren’t repeated.
4. Have a positive happy attitude to relationships and life despite what may have happened in the past. “As one door closes another one opens” |
| |
DEAL BREAKERS IN RELATIONSHIPS
1. Deceit / lies
2. Psychological mind games and hidden agendas
3. Infidelity (unless there is an agreement to have an open relationship!)
4. Constant criticism that belittles and disempowers
5. Lack of support for partner’s growth
6. Emotional immaturity - inability to deal with emotions and setbacks
7. Not being treated as an equal
8. Addictions eg. pornography, alcohol, drugs
9. Lack of respect
10.Giving away personal power to please a partner
(agreeing and saying yes most of the time) |

HOW TO AVOID THESE BLUNDERS
- Become a conscious self- aware single not an unconscious single blundering your way through situations.
- Get out of ego and just connect without hidden agendas.
- Does some personal development work to break patterns that are sabotaging your relationships.
- Stop saying you haven’t met the right person and instead ask the question “What is it about me or how I am behaving that is stopping the right person coming into my life?” Take responsibility for what you are creating and start doing something about it.
- Create and maintain different thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours to get different results.
- If you want a long term relationship know what sort of partner and what sort of relationship you want and ask yourself, are you that same partner? Become the partner you are looking for.
- Get into your personal power and know you are worthy of being treated well and don’t settle for anything less.
- Work on being the best you can be in all areas of your life and this will make you more attractive to the opposite sex and all people.
- Live by strong core values such as honesty, integrity, trust, commitment, and accountability as others pick up these strengths.
- Use dating and relationship experiences to learn and grow as a human being. They are a gift.
